a little about me

Above all else I'm a mum. I'm married to a South African who loves a good braai (bbq to you and me) and together we're navigating the crazy, rollercoaster journey of parenthood with our two children - a creative, kind-hearted, make-up obsessed teenage girl and a football mad, fearless, energetic teenage boy who are my absolute universe.

There's nothing more important to me in this entire world than my two little humans, the heart bursting love and pure meaning they bring to my life. Without a doubt my passion for photography was driven by the birth of my children and the loss of my parents. My dad passed away from cancer when I was in my twenties and twelve years later my mum passed away suddenly after a short illness. My heart was broken but it was a catalyst for my photography journey. Fuelled by the desire to preserve meaningful moments for others, I went back to college to study photography and eventually left my television career of over twenty years to set up my little business. The rest as they say is history.

Firstly I love people. I can't get enough of hearing people's stories, where they come from, what they do, what they've done and where life has taken them. I'm a great listener but I also love to talk - something my husband will definitely vouch for!

I love anything creative and have always had a passion for storytelling and the camera, hence spending many happy years in the crazy, interesting world of tv production. I'm passionate about anything to do with the arts and before my two little people came along I use to dabble in acting myself, something I'd really like to do again. I also like to think I can sing, but I think my neighbours might tell you otherwise! I'm desperate to learn the saxophone but I'm not sure my neighbours would appreciate that either!

I love being outdoors as it just grounds me and calms me and makes me feel alive. A massive foodie, I love to eat out but I'm just as happy in my comfy pjs with a good take out and a chic-flick!

My biggest love really is spending time with family and friends. For me, happiness doesn't come from material things but from being surrounded by the people we love and the people that just get us.
